What
Upspire supports local non-profits through fundraising outdoor adventure campaigns, inspiring people by sharing the joy of both the outdoors and philanthropy. Though nature is just outside all of our front doors, not everyone has the privilege to access all it can offer.
By raising funds for area charities, Upspire aims to give the outdoors experience to underprivileged young people, knowing the transformations that time in the wild can provide.
Why
Exploring the outdoors brings meaning to the lives of even the most experienced hikers, climbers, bikers and nature enthusiasts; imagine the difference it can make to individuals whose eyes are fresh to it.
Whether it’s a sense of understanding one’s own surroundings, feeling comfortable moving through the world independently, developing problem-solving skills or heightening one’s sense of self-awareness, Upspire believes the dividends of investing in outdoor experiences are manifest.

Past Project: Grand Teton, WY
Upspire’s inaugural project began when a team including our CEO successfully summited the Grand Teton in Jackson, Wyoming.
The climb served a few purposes: it raised awareness of our foundation’s purpose, marked the start of Upspire’s fundraising campaign and challenged our supporters and board members to put their outdoor and philanthropic passions into action.
The week began with two days of training, followed by a two-day successful summit bid and an overnight in the saddle mid-mountain.
With a total elevation of 13,770 feet and a team of three aiming to conquer the Grand Teton in two short days, we couldn’t think of a more fitting way to kick off Upspire’s work in the Upstate of South Carolina and beyond.
